About the Toledo Top 64

The Toledo Top 64 is a free, invite-only basketball showcase for the most sought-after college basketball prospects in Northwest Ohio.

Our Story

The Toledo Top 64 is a free, invite-only basketball showcase for the most sought-after college basketball prospects in Northwest Ohio.

In 2023, our third and most recent edition of the event, we hosted 53 scouts representing 40 college programs. There were several scholarships extended by attending colleges to participating athletes in the hours and days following the event.

The Toledo Top 64 removes two barriers that an aspiring basketball player from our community commonly faces when it comes to being seen by college coaches:

Problem: Too much money to attend an event with colleges present.

Solution: The event is entirely free of charge.

Problem: Lack of transportation to a major city where top-flight events are typically held.

Solution: The event is located in Toledo.

Creating opportunities for young people is at the core our work.

The Toledo Top 64 serves as an example of what people in a position of power can accomplish when their goal is simply to use their resources and skills to empower others.

Anthony Garcia

Anthony Garcia is the Director of Audience & Experience at Prep Network, serving as the voice of the customer at the company. Prep Network is the sole operator of Prep Hoops, Prep Girls Hoops, Prep Dig, Prep Redzone, Prep Soccer, and Prep Lacrosse. He is from Toledo, Ohio.

Shane Garcia

Shane Garcia is a scout with Prep Hoops Ohio and attends The Ohio State University, as he majors in Exercise Science in pursuit to become a Physical Therapist. Shane played basketball at St. John’s Jesuit, where he was a team captain and winner of the St. Anthony Crawford Award. He is from Toledo, Ohio.

Dennis Hopson

Dennis Hopson is one of the most accomplished basketball figures in the history of Toledo. He is the leading all-time scorer at The Ohio State University and was selected third overall in the 1987 NBA draft. Hopson is currently the head coach at Lourdes University. He is from Toledo, Ohio.
